Masthead Analysis

Metal Hammer :- The masthead for Metal Hammer is more pointy which shows what type of music it is. Also you can clearly see that underneath is shattering glass, they have used that effect on the masthead. This gives some insight into what music it is also because it always has an aggressive effect to it.

mixmag :- The masthead for Mixmag is clearly representing the type of music that it has inside. The roundness of the words represent that they are DJ decks and maybe Vinyl records. The use of colours also shows what music it is. It's colourful and energizing.

50 Cent CANDY SHOP

How women are portrayed in 50 Cent Candy shop.

Women in the 50 cent video “Candy Shop” are portrayed as sex objects, they are only there for his needs and to have sex with him, he does not see them other than a background object to fulfil his needs. The girls are usually behind him which shows he is superior to them. They aren’t seen as real people, just “ho’s.”

Also when you are watching the video, they are all dressed as men will see them, usually in the media we see women through the male gaze.
Also we could get the impression that the women are just queueing up to have sex with him because he is so famous and seen as a sex god.

However, they could also be seen as the dominant sex as they control him because they know what he wants.

Also he keeps talking about how they want it, but in reality they only want his money.

CD Design Brief

Band Name:  Apocalyptic Zombie Uprising.

Target Audience: 

What is their age range? 14 - 19

What other music do they listen to? Texas Drag Queen Massacre, Parkway Drive, Mastodon, Rise To Remain.

What other interests might they have? Skating, Drinking, House Parties, Mosh Pits, Drugs, Loitering, Watching Films, Being in a Band

What style of clothing do they wear? Skinny Jeans, Black Hoodies, Converse, Band T-Shirts, Lip Piercings, Ear Stretchers

Imagery and colour schemes: Colours will be dark. There will be an over exaggerated use of one colour. Maybe Switch the colours around to create a special effect.

Likely to Appear: Some sort of font which says what it looks like e.g. Says Newspaper

                              Also some graphic pictures with a clear background.

Lone Warriors - Statuoto Insanity

Evaluation: This wasn't my initial design. It was first an atom bomb explosion, but i thought that it did not coincide with the type of music. I found the asylum background on google, and the person is a friend of mine. Using Dafont i used texts that were distorted and looked angry. I gave them a shadow after copying a picture into the texts. I chose the name Statuoto Insanity because i thought it was catchy. And Lone Warriors because when you are in an insane asylum. Your are alone. On the person, i embossed him to make him look as if he weren't human and just a polished doll.

Evaluation: After creating the front cover, i just copied the picture onto the back and added a barcode. For the songs i copied the text into a picture of fire to give the fiery effect to the names. The names were all created using a name creator on the web. Overall I am pleased with how the front and back cover came out.
